How You Can Pay It Forward
No amount of money, no amount of toys, no amount of things can replace the feeling and the supreme awesomeness of making a difference for the better in someone’s life. The great thing about making a difference is that anyone can make a positive difference in another’s life no matter how big or how small. That is what Pay It Forward x 1 Million is all about! Making a positive difference in someone’s life.
Pay It Forward Definition: Doing something for someone that helps to improve their life without expecting anything in return for him/herself but instead asking that person to do something kind for another person.
The concept dates back to the days of Benjamin Franklin in a letter he sent in 1784: “I do not pretend to give such a deed; I only lend it to you. When you [...] meet with another honest Man in similar Distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go thro’ many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its Progress. This is a trick of mine for doing a deal of good with a little money.”
We are looking to inspire over 1 million acts of kindness in 1 year. Imagine the world in which we would live if everyone were looking to perform acts of kindness for others and expecting nothing in return. What would happen to murder? What would happen to suicide?
